Vita for iPhone · Practical guides
“I need an app that reminds me to do stuff.”
The right setup depends on what slips: the time to act, the steps involved, or the detail you need when you get there. Start with one real task.
Choose the right kind of reminder
| What you need | A useful starting point | Example |
|---|---|---|
| An alert at a particular time | A timed reminder in Apple Reminders or Vita | Pay the electricity bill Friday at 7pm. |
| Several things to do together | A checklist | Pack the charger, tickets and jacket. |
| A task with a detail attached | A reminder plus saved context | Collect the repaired laptop and bring the receipt. |
| Something that happens regularly | A repeating reminder | Take the bins out every Tuesday evening. |
Apple Reminders is a good place to start
If you need a simple alert or list, try the Reminders app already on your iPhone. You can add details and set a date and time, or ask Siri to create a reminder. Apple’s Reminders guide explains the available options.
You do not need an AI assistant for every alarm. Vita becomes useful when you also want the reason, related note and follow-up to stay in a conversation you can return to.
With Vita, keep the task and its context together
Talk or type what needs doing. Include the time when it matters. You can also save the detail that will be useful later:
“The shop needs my receipt. Remind me Friday at 6pm to collect the laptop.”
Open the task to check the date and time. Later, ask what you need to bring. If the collection moves, tell Vita the new time and review the updated reminder.
For more than one step, ask for a checklist. A checklist and an alert do different jobs: say when you want a reminder if you need a timed prompt.
Set up delivery on your iPhone
- Download Vita and start a conversation as a guest.
- Choose whether to allow notifications and connect Apple Reminders in Settings.
- Create a small reminder a few minutes ahead and check its saved time.
- Lock your phone and confirm the reminder reaches you with your current device settings.
System alarms in Vita require iOS 26 or later. The app supports iOS 17 or later. Notifications depend on permissions, connectivity and device settings, so make that small first test before relying on an important alert.
If the reminder doesn’t arrive
Check the saved time and time zone, notification permissions, Focus settings and the task’s device status. A task can be saved in Vita while still waiting to reach a connected Reminders list. Keep a separate alarm for anything critical until you have confirmed your setup.
