AI phone calls · Vita for iPhone
An AI that makes phone calls for you
Hold music, phone menus, “we can only tell you that over the phone.” Tell Vita who to call and what you need. It places the call from your own number, does the talking and tells you what happened.
Published by Vita · October 26, 2026. Calls work with US phone numbers.
How it works
- Ask in your own words. “Call the tire shop on Main Street and ask if they can fit me in Saturday morning.” Name the business or give its number, and say what you need to find out.
- Confirm your number once. The first time, Vita shows a code and a short verification call asks you to enter it. After that, the people Vita calls see your number, not a stranger’s.
- Follow along, if you like. While the call runs, the app shows the conversation as it happens. Send Vita a private note, join the call yourself or end it at any point.
- Get the result. When the call ends, Vita tells you what was said and agreed, and puts what follows into your day: the appointment, a reminder or the next step.
What Vita can do on a call
- Ask about prices, opening hours, availability and wait times.
- Explain your situation, using the details the business needs to help you, such as your name and phone number.
- Wait on hold and get through phone menus.
- Check with you in the app when the business asks something only you can answer, then pass your answer on.
- Talk through a bill, a fee or a problem for you, and bring back what they offer.
What always waits for you
- Commitments. Accepting a price, booking or cancelling waits for your tap.
- Payments. Vita never pays on a call. If a payment is needed, one tap can bring you onto the line to pay yourself.
- Sensitive details. Vita asks you before sharing anything sensitive, like an ID number.
- Calls you did not ask for. If Vita thinks a call would help, it prepares it and waits for your tap on Call.
Vita introduces itself as your AI assistant and says so whenever it is asked.
Good calls to hand to an AI
- “Ask the pharmacy if my prescription is ready and until when they’re open.”
- “Call the dentist and move my cleaning to any afternoon next week.”
- “Find out if the hardware store has the 20-inch box fan in stock.”
- “Call the internet company and ask why my bill went up this month.”
Moving an appointment is a change in your name, so Vita brings back the times they offer and waits for your tap before it accepts one.
Questions about AI phone calls
Can an AI make phone calls for me?
Yes. With Vita on iPhone, you say who to call and what you need. Vita places the call to a US business from your own verified number, does the talking and tells you what happened afterwards.
Does the business know it is talking to an AI?
Yes. Vita introduces itself as your AI assistant and says so whenever it is asked.
Will Vita book, cancel or pay for something on a call?
Vita can ask, explain and negotiate for you. Accepting a price, booking or cancelling waits for your tap. Vita never pays on a call; if a payment is needed, it can bring you onto the line to pay yourself.
Can Vita call numbers outside the US?
Not yet. Calls work with US phone numbers only: your number and the number Vita calls.
Can I listen in or take over?
Yes. While the call runs, the Vita app shows the conversation as it happens. You can send Vita a private note, join the call yourself or end it.
Does Vita call without asking me?
No. Vita calls when you ask it to, and a call that could commit you to something starts when you tap Call. If Vita thinks a call would help, it prepares the call and waits for your tap.
